Tabú Design began with a clear vision: to craft quality furniture with consistency, way, with passion and care.
Founded in 1998 as a sourcing and quality control company, Tabú Design evolved into a full-scale furniture manufacturing facility by 2005, led by Fernando Heras.
Our factory is located in Solo, Central Java, well known for its deep-rooted tradition in teak wood craftsmanship. This heritage continues to shape our approach to furniture manufacturing, blending traditional skills with modern design ideas.
Our showroom and sales office are based in Bali, where our team innovates and creates new designs for every project.
Over the years, we have expanded our production capabilities alongside our long-term partners, while remaining true to our core values of delivering high-quality bespoke furniture and tailored interior solutions for clients across industries and continents.

At Tabú Design, our work begins with locally sourced materials and extends to global delivery. Our materials, including teak wood, rattan, brass, canvas, paper cord and vegetable-tanned leather, are carefully selected through a trusted local network in Indonesia. Close collaboration with these suppliers allows us to stay agile, maintain quality control and support the communities that form part of our craftsmanship ecosystem.
To complement this foundation, we incorporate in our manufacturing international components such as technical fabrics, dyes or machinery from specialized partners.
Our integrated sourcing and production model gives us more than control. It enables reliable guidance, from material selection to prototyping, and from small-batch production to large-scale international orders.
